I met Sia Komba at the gate of the Bank of Sierra Leone. Her emancipated conditions drew my attention.

She was wearing a red frock and looked gaunt .Her face was swollen. At her side was a big blue and white plastic bag, commonly called ‘Ghana must go’ which probably contained all her worldly possessions. I asked Sia for her name. She told me and said she was 19 but as you can see from her photo she looked more like an old woman than a teenager.

FIFA president Sepp Blatter has revealed he will stand for re-election in 2011, insisting “I have not yet achieved my mission in football.”

The Swiss supremo has held his position since 1998 when he took over from Joao Havelange and despite often being controversial, is currently in his third term.

Contrary to widespread speculations that the new Sierra Leone Ports Authority General Manager, Captain Benjamin Davies, was not going to withdraw the bid he submitted over two months ago to the SLPA for the supply of navigation Aids, when he was not yet appointed to that position by president Ernest Bai Koroma, the Sea - Captain has confounded and proved his critics very wrong when he, of his own volition, withdrew his submitted bid for the supply of Navigation Aids to the Sierra Leone Ports Authority almost immediately he was appointed to the position of General Manager so as not to be found wanting of Conflict of Interest.
 
NASSIT Sacks 48 Staff Of Moribund Ferries Print E-mail

The controversy over two Moribund ferries procured by NASSIT has not been resolved.

In the meantime, the Management of Sierra Ferries, the group that NASSIT contracted to manage the said ferries has reportedly sacked some eighty four workers.
