His Excellency, the beloved president, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, was this week heard on radio lambasting, or attacking and criticizing very severely, especially those very, very corrupt Civil and Public Servants in his government.

In as much as we very, very much appreciated and will ever continue to appreciate that stance, the Chief Executive may be made to know and realize that for any political leader or president to be seen to succeed in turning an almost failed or failing nation state around for better, it is DEEDS! that must be seen to be swiftly marched alongside WORDS!

In short, DEEDS! not just WORDS!

The late president Joseph Saidu Momoh, may his soul rest where it belongs, took over the reigns of government from his predecessor, the late president Siaka Stevens, on Thursday, November 28, 1985, right there in the Chamber of the Parliament.

Momoh was a garrulous or talkative president who was never ever seen to march WORDS with DEEDS.

At a point in the time of his rule, he publicly confessed that he had ingloriously failed the nation by not only being unable to live up to his people's expectations, but also by listening and heeding the advices of the very numerous political sycophants and opportunists who clustered around him only with a view to promoting their very SELFISH INTERESTS.

The late president Momoh ended up being kicked out of that noble and glorious office by the military 'JUNTA,' which took power by force and headed or led by Captain Valentine Strasser, on Wednesday, April 29, 1992.

Momoh, was one such presidents in Africa that did not take the writings of the PRESS seriously.

Erstwhile president Ahmad Tejan Kabbah, too, failed at the tail end of his rule, because he would not take seriously the writing, revelations and admonitions of the PRESS.

Remember ye, president Bai Koroma, that history is created by the things we leave behind…

That is why we very much believe that it will not just suffice to be heard talking rather tough; but what is most expected of you is to be seen acting rather tough…

DEEDS! not WORDS!

President Koroma should not be seen to be slow in taking decisive decisions.

There is indeed rampant corruption in very, very high, middle and low places.

These are the 'SHYLOCKS', who will stop at nothing, only with an avid and mad rush to amass ill-gotten riches and wealth to the dire detriment, calamity, misery and woe of the nation state…

Those or He who seeks sweet things by whatever means, must also be prepared to endure the bitterness that follows.

President Ernest Bai Koroma will be seen to FAIL, only and only, when he scruples to ACT TOUGH NOW!

Indeed, Corruption buttressed with unpatriotic and greedy fingers, will expedite or hasten the speed of a nation's fall!

And so, with Momoh having failed to move this country forward in socio-economic progress, and Ahmad Tejan Kabbah too, at the tail end of his eleven years presidency, ruling this nation with utter complacency and careless abandon or willful negligence and deliberate failure to put things right before taking his inglorious EXIT, only goodness knows what will become of Sierra Leone, if, and when, president Ernest Bai Koroma could only be heard talking tough and acting weak!!

When over the affairs of a nation state a president is installed, he must be seen to have the courage of his convictions and opinions to do what is right in the very best interest of the state.

Too many sycophants and opportunists around the president, all of whom are advising for SELF.

Now that a lot of institutions have been indicted by no less a person than the Chief Executive himself, for corruption, what remains to be seen at present, is the stance, position and decision the president is going to take against those allegedly corrupt institutions etc. etc.

A word to the wise is quite sufficient.. Good Luck… Mr. President…!
