Dear beer lovers,
Since the early 1960's Sierra Leone Brewery has been renowned for the production and marketing of high quality beers and its positive contribution to Sierra Leone.
You may have seen the recent articles published by the Standard Times with respect to the quality of the Star and Guinness beer brands produced locally at the Sierra Leone Brewery and the imported Heineken beer brand.
Would like to take this opportunity to inform you that we strongly refute all of the allegations made in these newspaper and articles and are taking appropriate legal action against the Standard Times Newspaper for issuing false, malicious and defamatory statements about Sierra Leone Brewery and the quality of our beers.
As part of the Heineken International Group, Sierra Leone Brewery takes immense pride in the quality of all of its products whether brewed in Sierra Leone or imported from The Netherlands.
Sierra Leone Brewery is fully equipped with automated technology to ensure that no bottle of beer can leave the production line contaminated, and we adhere stringently to the 'best before' dates of our imported brands to guarantee our consumers can enjoy the products at their optimal taste and freshness.
Each year, we produce and sell millions of bottles of Star, Guinness and Maltina, and import and sell millions of bottles of Heineken to the great satisfaction and appreciation of our cherished consumers. We assure you that Sierra Leone Brewery complies with the best market standards to ensure that the beers produce and sold by Sierra Leone Brewery are of the highest quality. Bottles which contain foreign objects of any kind, as reported by the Standard Times Newspaper, cannot pass our quality controls undetected and therefore such stories must be fabricated.
Sierra Leone Brewery is contributing in many different ways to the future development of this friendly and beautiful country. After the interregnum, the Brewery was one of the few manufacturing companies to invest millions of Euros to restore its facility so as to continue brewing, packing and marketing its beer brands and to maintain the employment status of our employees. During the last five years, the Brewery has invested in and supported the development of locally grown Sorghum. Today, nearly a thousand Sierra Leonean farm families generate income by growing Sorghum for us. An Economic impact study showed a significant positive impact upon direct and indirect employment and economic value created by Sierra Leone Brewery within Sierra Leone.
We are committed to ensure that all our products are of the highest standard in terms of quality freshness, safety and complaint with local and international laws and standard.
We thank you for your continued appreciation and loyalty.
Sincerely,
Cor Honkoop
