Ten female professors in Uganda were honoured last weekend for academic excellence according to Uganda’s leading daily New Vision.

Amongst them was Professor Victoria Mwaka who served for 13 years as head of the Geography Department at Makerere University.

The Gambia is on track to achieve all seven of the seven U.N Millennium Development Goals, President Yaya Jammah has told that country’s National Assembly and he said there was no reason why the country cannot become an ‘economic super power’.

15 year old John Sesay, popularly known as Daddy, drowned at Lumley Beach this Easter Monday after defying his  mother’s warning to spend the day at home.
