All Works of Life (AWOL), which objective is to bring together people of all works of life, past Wednesday, November 11, at the Mohamed Kallon Building at Charlotte street, launched its annual National Achievements Awards for 2009.
The Chairman of AWOL, Mr. Kwaku Lisk, told journalists before the launch that this year’s theme ‘put Sierra Leone First’ was chosen deliberately to reflect the strides that are being taken by various organisations to rebrand this country.
“This is our country”, Mr. Lisk said “and the citizens must be made to realize that this country comes first in their lives”.
Mr. Lisk added that AWOL recognises people for hard work and effort. The awards, Mr. Lisk said, have increased from 25 last year to 27 this year, and they include those for sports personality, Media Houses, Parliamentarians and Farmer of the year.
The Award ceremony will take place at the Family Kingdom on the 24th December, 2009. |
