It is clearly evident that the story published in Peep Magazine on Friday6th November titled “Massive Malpractices At Pharmacy Board’ did touch a raw nerve as the acting Registrar of the Board, Mr. Wiltshire Johnson, has been moving from press house to press house trying to refute the allegations that the Board pocketed Le1.2bn for unseen Newsletters and Continuous Professional Education.

But try as he could Mr. Johnson has not been able to prove his case beyond all reasonable doubt as ‘is his true intention’.

Barring the Professional fee stuff which Mr. Johnson claims was paid to the NRA direct, his other statements and that of Peep’s seem to be exactly on the same’ wavelength’. The bottom line is that unaccountable for monies were collected by the Board which never went to the NRA. The only differences that Peep! With its three medicines selling businesses in the country and the amount collected per quarter for Newsletters. Peep! Said 3000 pharmacies but Mr. Wiltshire Johnson who seems not to know how to count said1020 Peep said Le50, 000 per quarter but Mr. Johnson said ‘nay’ but rather Le60, 000 per annum.

As for the Continuous Professional fee there was a total agreement.

Now assuming Mr. Johnson is right and Peep is wrong the question still arises as to why prospective license, payers were forced to part with that money before their licenses fees could be accepted. Again why did the Board collect the monies for the newsletters but published only one instead of four and why is it only after Peep publication that the Board hurriedly arranged a session of Professional Continuous Education at Kono? Why now?

Subtracting the money has been utilized up to date where is the balance? Well it be returned to the Consolidated Fund or will Mr.Johnson waits for the Anti Corruption Commission to pounce and ask questions?

As for contacting Mr. Johnson before publication, he knows in his heart that Peep did exactly that and it was exactly what he said that was published.
