The fact of the matter is simply this; that the Time for Responsibility is Now, both at the level and angle of the very first and foremost gentleman of the State - that is to say, His Excellency the President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, and all other leaderships at all levels and on all angles.

Starting from the Chief Executive right down to his Cabinet Ministers, Permanent Secretaries etc., under the Executive Arm of the government; and from the honourable Mr. Speaker, who happens to be the head of our legislature or our honourable Parliament, where the Laws that govern us as a nation state are enacted or made, together with our 112 honourable parliamentarians all of whom are representing the 112 constituencies in the entire country - 39 in the northern region; 27 in the eastern region… 25 in the southern region and 21 in the western area and our Judiciary, which is headed by the honourable Chief Justice - together with her "LAW lords', all of whom like the aforementioned other two arms of government are paid from the Consolidated Revenue Fund in order to maintain and sustain the independence, neutrality and impartiality of our judges, must all please! please! please! be respectfully reminded and admonished that the time for responsibility is now! Now! and Now!

Because we do not want to see a repetition of the tragic events that caused Sierra Leone to be classified a 'FALED STATE' from Monday, April 22, 1968, when the late Siaka Probyn Stevens took over the reigns of government as Prime Minister, to Monday, September 17, 2007, when erstwhile/former president Ahmed Tejan Kabbah handed over the mantle and staff of leadership to president Ernest Bai Koroma.

President Koroma ought to know and realize that it does not just suffice for him to cry down certain institutions for allegedly acquiring a reputation for indiscriminate corruption; for in as much as we credit him for his courage to expose that oratorically; to take responsibility simply means having the job or duty of doing something or taking care of somebody or something so that you may be blamed and if need be, castigated and punished if something goes wrong.

Wilful negligence and deliberate failure on the part of any body or official of government to do the right thing, or what is morally good and acceptable, thus, choosing instead to do what is absolutely wrong with a view to causing the state to lose revenue to the advantage and delight of the bank accounts and burst pockets of the 'SHYLOCKS' or CROOKS, yea! those criminals and dishonest persons, must be addressed and treated with the appropriate anti-dote or cure for the virus of indiscriminate corruption.

Cronyism, the situation in which people in high places or power give jobs only to their friends etc. etc. is another major factor for the endemic corruption in Sierra Leone.

Unless and until the law is seen to let people take responsibility for their actions, be they good or bad, in this our country Sierra Leone now, any talk! talk! talk, till dooms day, will be of no effect and only an exercise in absolute futility.

Drastic situations need drastic measures to address and contain them. Believe it or leave it… corruption that is seen to be buttressed with 'Fascist', unpatriotic and cronies fingers and tongues will only expedite or hasten the speed of our nation's fall from gloom to doom and from a crisis to a catastrophe.

Those who seek sweet things whatever way, must also be ready to endure the bitterness which will result from that underserved milk and honey.

And remember, Mr. President, that history is created by the things we leave behind.

Only when the law is seen to really BITE the shylocks/crooks and criminals that are hell bent to sink and drown our nation state to damning depths, can we behold Sierra Leone to GROW DOWN with corruption.

Deeds and Action now! Mr. President, not just the lambasting of the alleged crooks of our nation state!!

The leader must be seen to have the courage of his convictions and opinions, if he is to succeed delay in taking decision is very, very dangerous…
