The Australian-born Chairlady of St. Joseph's Secondary School Board, Lady of Cluny member, Sis. Anne, left the shores of Sierra Leone a bitter woman after her attempts to influence things in favour of the current Principal of Wallace Johnson Secondary School, Ms. Christiana Annie Leigh, failed woefully.

Inside sources at the Ministry of Education told Peep that since the interviews about a month ago, she had been going there to pester Heads of Department for the process to be fast tracked in favour of Ms. Leigh. But her problem, according to the source, is Ms. Leigh's legacy at Wallace Johnson School. Since Ms. Leigh became Principal, she has never appointed a vice. Moreover, she herself acts as the school's accountant receiving school fees and other charges without ever giving account to anyone. In fact, it was only recently that she bought the services of the bursar of the St. Joseph's Junior School to sought her accounts out for her.

Inside sources within Wallace Johnson School said that this preparation was as a result of Sis. Anne's assurance that the position was hers for the taking. Ms. Leigh is said to have even thrown a big party as a celebration for her supposed promotion. But what they have failed to understand is that the Ministry of Education does not work on sentiments but it has an Act which guides its decision and part of that Act states that the Ministry reserves the right to choose the fittest person for Principal regardless of the Board's recommendation. And the yardstick that the Ministry uses is the seniority one, that is, it appoints the most senior teacher of the school to assume the principalship. The Minister of Education, Hon. Minkailu Bah, is said to have told the nun to her face that the Ministry's decision supersedes all others. Since Ms. Leigh became Principal, she has never appointed a vice.
