The Director of Sierra Leone Standards Bureau of the Trade and Industry Ministry, Mr. James S. Dumbuya, has disclosed that on 18 January, 2010, eight hundred and thirty eight thousand bags of stale rice were thrown at Joe Town. He stated that seven hundred and seventy eight thousands bags of the stale rice were further dumped at sea on the 5th, 6th and 7th February 2010. This stale rice was part of the consignment of rice Commodity Trading Company was having for market purposes had it not been for the vigilance of journalists and other loving Sierra Leoneans. All that rotten rice could have gone down the throats of poor and peaceful Sierra Leoneans owing to the unpatriotic, selfish and unscrupulous attitude and behaviour of that Shylocky Commodity Trading Company… Oh GOD!!! Even after the stale rice had been prescribed for throwing away, at the time of disposal of this stale rice down at the Water Quay there was a store keeper, a Lebanese called Mr. Hallowell who was using allsorts of rude words against a journalist called Mr. A. Jalloh of A.B.C. television who was at the time videoing the stale rice and the vehicles containing that stale rice for disposal.
