The programme for the launching ceremony of the novel product - "HFC M&S Home Renovation Mortgage," which was scheduled to commence at 2:00pm, at the company's head office at 30, Liverpool Street, Freetown, was delayed for a complete 46 minutes owing to the very late arrival of the City Father, the Lord Mayor of Freetown, Councillor Herbert George Williams, who was slated as Chairman for the occasion, but who rather unfortunately only arrived at the scene at exactly 2:46pm instead of the 2:00pm the ceremony was scheduled to commence.
Said a reporter of one media institution: "the president, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, has conceived, established and founded a very, very patriotic and responsibility minded ideology of positive Attitudinal and Behavioural Change in order to move this country forward in real human and socio-economic progress; but it would seem that those in very high positions of responsibility and trust, who should and must be seen to totally embrace this Salvationist idea of the president, are the very once that could be seen treating the president's call for Attitudinal and Behavioural Change with utter and absolute levity, contempt and disdain - or unworthy of notice, like what our reputable and honourable City Father has so done by appearing or showing up at a ceremony 46 minutes late, when he, of course, is slated as Chairman for the ceremony: Is the Creole adage eternally correct, that… "Monkey nor dae lef hi black han?"
Said another reporter of another media house: "it is those people who ought to know better by helping our dear president turn around this country for the better and even the best, that have failed and continue to fail this glorious country by not being seen to be living up to the expectations and responsibilities of their very honourable and reputable offices". |
