15 year old John Sesay, popularly known as Daddy, drowned at Lumley Beach this Easter Monday after defying his  mother’s warning to spend the day at home.

The JSS II pupil of Government Technical Secondary School escaped from their 26 Grancess street residence with a few friends. Sadly their adventure at the beach was to end tragically.

Aminata Bangura, Daddy’s mother, returned from shopping at about 1pm to be told the sad news of her son’s death.

To add problems to the domestic tragedy, the family was forced to find close to Le500,000 over the holiday for autopsy, embalming and other mortuary fees.

‘Daddy’ used to be our neighbour when we operated from 28, Savage street.
