Once upon a time we christened them the 'State Lodge Gazette' run by Two-And-A-Half 'O' Level journalists C5 'O' levels on two sittings). And although the name has fallen into disuse - since State Lodge is now in other hands… they appear to have continued with their same old sycophantic ways…
The Krios have a saying 'call name bring palaba' - so we deliberately did not identify the newspapers which were acting a PRESS PIMPS over the whole C.T. SCANNER AFFAIR.
But who the cap fits deviously wears it - which was why we were subjected to a truckload of abuse from New Vision which informed us as 'a senior journalist that we 'ought to know better'.
Well this 'senior journalist has been through many travails over the years… We hardly ever comment on anybody else's story… just read and laugh (or weep appropriately).
So when did NEW VISION decide to take up the AXE for the Shallops? They (i.e. Shallops) have NEVER written to us disputing any of the points we made. If they had, we would have given them Right of Reply.
So we'd advise New Vision to tell us (i) How well the C.T scanner is working (b) How tax was paid (in two-three installments) on a 1.55 million dollar scanner…
We would really find it very AMUSING and definitely include it in our INCREDIBLE THEORIES.
So people have credibility… some do not…
TEN WAYS TO IDENTIFY A PRESS PIMP
1. As reshuffle looms, suddenly 'discover' a conspiracy by one Minister to contest against Ernest in 2012.
2. Back, to the hilt, crooked SALPOST M.D who was supposed to PAY BACK money he'd used from State parastatal…
3. Following an ELECTION acclaimed as free and fair by almost everyone in the world, still describe Ernest Koroma's election as 'controversial' (see Point 1).
4. In 1996 brayed for Wanza to get his money… then in 2004 start howling because Opposition then (APC) finally did pay him so they were excluded from their 'CUT' (ha! ha!)
5. Always interfering to give the 'True Story' about dubious deals costing State zillions of leones (for a small fee ha! ha!).
6. Fill up space with unending ranting of Salone's oldest living columnist…
7. Carefully interpret contracts awarded by SLPP as Good - while denouncing those by APC as Bad (isn't contract fulfillment the main thing?)
8. Despite change of editor - still uphold banal prose as the height of elegant writing.
9. Always attacking papers which Stand For Something…
