Somebody gave Ol Poo And Wee a Christmas present…

Idrissa Conteh (Atomic Pen) was very complimentary about the old Sage's writings. I don't have the newspaper near me - or I would have quoted from the commendation…

Anyway Banya expresses sincere thanks for the compliment… then immediately meanders off into a critique of the Bumbuna hydro electric dam which, he says, wasn't ready but was 'rushed up' to meet President Koroma's political deadline of September 17, 2009.

Of course Atomic Pen is entitled to his conclusions… we will only say we do not share them… we've been expecting, from Dr. Banya, some self-critique of his long years in office and a measured (mature) perceptive on why, exactly, our country is where it is today…

This is why we said we read Dr. Banya 'avidly'; in the hope that one day, purely out of ennui with his own long and boring apologia, he'd decide to educate those of us two generations younger…and tell us the TRUTH about his long, long, LONG political career... Once again try and write SELF CRITICAL TRUTH - although it may be very taxing for you... we’d appreciate it.

So far, our hope has not been realized. But he turns 80 in the next few months… surely, by then, he'll realize he's lived TWO LIFE TIMES by Salone standards already. We already know about the SLPP life time… but how about his APC days, as Finance Minister and Kailahun candidate? What about his brief foray into conspiratorial politics and the trip to talk to MASKITA? Until we have these facts, PROFFESSOR PEEP, Fifi and other (unauthorized) biographers of Dr. Sama Banya cannot convey to future generations the True Measure of The Man…

And p-l-e-a-s-e DR. BANYA stop telling us FAIRY TALES for your own simple partisan point scoring…

Speaking of an incident in Kissy Teng which, incidentally, is the centre of the world, for him, he notes.

Let me repeat that there were no such incidents in the 63 chieftaincy elections under the SLPP because that government insisted on the correct procedure of transparency and non interference in the exercise.

Sorry… but we REMEMBER Biriwa Limba and the way the whole process was manipulated to place a Madingo on the throne of a prominently Limba Chiefdom…
